Mom's New Van

Mom got a new van! Dad traded the POS car for it (alongside 500 bucks). It's kinda ugly on the outside, actually, it's quite uninviting. But on the inside, WOO. Tan leather seats, spacious, remote for the CD player... I'm sure there's more but I haven't ridden in it yet. We have to get it insured. The radiator needs to be replaced, but dad's pretty sure he has one in one of the vehicles in the yard (yay!), but either way, it doesn't go chuggy-chug-chug like the car did. :) I'm excited.

Resident Evil

Woot! Resident Evil: Afterlife opens on Sept. 10th and I'm going whether or not I'm living in a cardboard box. I'm not going on opening day, that'd be stupid, but I'm going nonetheless.

I've been following all manner of Resident Evil (except comics, although I would if I knew where to go) since I was twelve, and I am so super excited to see that my favorite character is FINALLY going to be in the movie; Chris Redfield (insert squealing here).

Cause I feel like it, I'll note what I've got in my collection: Three official game guides( one of which is the RE5 collector's limited edition), all of the novelizations of the games and the movies, the RE5 limited edition red Xbox 360, three copies of RE5, three copies of RE4, RE1, two copies RE1 (2002 Remake), two copies RE0, two copies RE2, RE3, RE: Code Veronica, RE: Umbrella Chronicles, RE: Darkside Chronicles.

Now, the reason I have multiple copies of the RE4, is because they have differences between platforms. I can't remember, I might have a fourth copy just cause it was on a different console :D. All the rest of the multiple copies are on different consoles. (Proud to say I have RE2 on the Nintendo 64!) As for RE5? I bought it on the day it came out. Then a few days later I found out that it had the red Xbox which came with another copy.

And then I found the limited edition in a used store with all the extras in it: a necklace of Kijuju, a Tricell messenger bag, a BSAA patch and a Chris Redfield figurine (he's about four inches tall?). Which brings me to three action figures, who are are much bigger than he is: another Chris Redfield and Jill Valentine (RE1 GameCube) and Zealot (RE4).

Oh, yeah. And the movies. I own two copies of each movie, including Degeneration. The first one because the second edition came out with more special features and the other two because I lost my first two copies somewhere in the house, lol. As for Degeneration, the first copy I bought 'cause I wanted the movie. The second 'cause we went to Wal-mart and saw it came with a t-shirt. It makes me sad, though, because I don't know where my beloved t-shirt is. :(

Until I reread this I didn't realise how much of a Resident Evil Retard I was. I've invented a term. I'm a RE-RE. Haha. And I will forever be one.

The Last Few Days

What has happened... Oh, so much. Mom lost her job. Brandi pretty much fired her for having a hearing problem. She called her useless after her hearing aid broke. So I put my two weeks notice in. I'm done on the 13th.

I don't know if it was the right thing for me to do. Quitting, that is. It's not that I won't be looking for another job, but it's that for a while all the expenses are going to be on dad.

We put most of the cats outside (finally). Now we only have Bullet and Skip. They put on a lot of weight once the kittens got older because they didn't like playing with them and now that the kittens are out, Bullet and Skip are playing a lot more and eating a lot less. I think they were depressed because of how many cats there were in the house. I know I was. Cleaning up after them is not fun. And I am not being funny; I'm being dead serious when I say I literally could not lift the cat poop when I cleaned out the litter box. It becomes a two person job after a certain point.

I'm getting to the point where I just don't care about anything anymore.

Military Base

Ooo, Thank you Hae! I'll just copy it and post it here...

43 RADAR SQUADRON
43 Radar Squadron is one of the 24 radar sites forming the “Pinetree” line across Canada, and it is a component of both Fighter Group and the 24th NORAD Region, Operational control of the unit is exercised by the Direction Centre of the 24th NORAD Region, located at Malmstom Air Force Base, Great Falls, Montana. There are eleven Canadian and Seven American radar sites in this region, which includes most of Montana, half of North Dakota, all of Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, and British Columbia. The function of 43 Radar Squadron is identical to that of the other radar units, and that is to provide the direction centre with search, identification, and height information on airbreathing threats, and to provide remote communications facilities from which the direction centre ca control interceptors to counter the threat. Opened in 1964 The Squadron is one of the last “Pinetree” radar units to be constructed and the unit became operational in February, 1964. The radar equipment includes the FPS-27 search radar and FPS-507 height finder. Computer functions are performed by the FYQ-47 Common Digitizer. The Ground-Air Transmit-Receive (GATR) site equipment includes the GKA-5 Time Division Data Link (TDDL) system, GRT-3A transmitters, GRR-993 receivers, and GRC-27 receivers.
Location The radar site is located on a twelve acre clearing on top of a glacial esker, some 18 kilometres east of CFB Penhold, and some 400 M higher in elevation. The GATR site is in the same area, approximately 1.6km removed from the radar site. Almost all support facilities and services are provided by DFB Penhold at the main base complex. A small kitchen and dining room is located at the radar site, and the noon meal is available during normal working days.
