Christmas; and Video Games

I got most of my Christmas shopping done yesterday. I'm splurging this year :) yay-hoo, I say! I just gotta get a couple things for Mom, something for Adam and Jamie, and a bow for Peyton's present. I'm actually excited about Christmas this year.

Normally I hate Christmas. It's stressful and annoying, what with the music and... numerous other things. Let's just put it this way; I'm a Halloween kinda person.

On a completely different note, I finished Fable III about a week ago. Totally loved it and it has definite re-play value! And the Sims 3 is awesome, though I wish it had two players :(. Also, I wish it had easier controls. Like its parent, the Sims 2.

OOO! Donkey Kong Country Returns! Yay! Totally wicked, that is. Steph and I completed it the day before yesterday; though we have tons of secrets to find so we can unlock the Golden Temple. There is supposedly a banana inside that takes you to alternate universes or something like that. Anyhoo, I'm a fan of the originals for the SNES, so when I read about this puppy I was super excited! Bought it on Nov. 21st.

There is supposed to be a remake of Goldeneye out as well, and I want it. Heh. Though, it'll definitely need to wait till after Christmas.

Just like the Nintendo 3DS. Ooo. It apparently plays 3D games, like, you know, the images pop out. It's gonna have Resident Evil Mercenaries on it, so I'm getting it even if it kills me. Haha!

WHOA!

After many, many days, I have finally decided to blog. I mostly forgot I had one, but I have been busy at work. Yes, I am working at Lydia's store. And I like it. We are 1,000 times more organized than Willow Street, and believe me, it makes a difference when you have an entire team of people who actually care about the job working with you.

Anyway, onto some more important news :D two words: FABLE 3. Yes, it is today. Fable 3 is out. And so is the Sims 3. And Sex and the City 2. Man oh man. I'm spending a lot of money today, lol. I'm mostly excited about Fable. And there is a collector's edition, and I'm hoping to get it. It's about 80 bucks. But, I've kept money for this stuff. Video games is what I do; I love them. I'm soooo excited. Muwhahaha.

What else? Snow. I love snow. And it has finally fell. How I missed thee, oh wondrous white fluff! May you fall and be fluffy!

Huh. I think that's it for now.

Mom's New Van

Mom got a new van! Dad traded the POS car for it (alongside 500 bucks). It's kinda ugly on the outside, actually, it's quite uninviting. But on the inside, WOO. Tan leather seats, spacious, remote for the CD player... I'm sure there's more but I haven't ridden in it yet. We have to get it insured. The radiator needs to be replaced, but dad's pretty sure he has one in one of the vehicles in the yard (yay!), but either way, it doesn't go chuggy-chug-chug like the car did. :) I'm excited.

Resident Evil

Woot! Resident Evil: Afterlife opens on Sept. 10th and I'm going whether or not I'm living in a cardboard box. I'm not going on opening day, that'd be stupid, but I'm going nonetheless.

I've been following all manner of Resident Evil (except comics, although I would if I knew where to go) since I was twelve, and I am so super excited to see that my favorite character is FINALLY going to be in the movie; Chris Redfield (insert squealing here).

Cause I feel like it, I'll note what I've got in my collection: Three official game guides( one of which is the RE5 collector's limited edition), all of the novelizations of the games and the movies, the RE5 limited edition red Xbox 360, three copies of RE5, three copies of RE4, RE1, two copies RE1 (2002 Remake), two copies RE0, two copies RE2, RE3, RE: Code Veronica, RE: Umbrella Chronicles, RE: Darkside Chronicles.

Now, the reason I have multiple copies of the RE4, is because they have differences between platforms. I can't remember, I might have a fourth copy just cause it was on a different console :D. All the rest of the multiple copies are on different consoles. (Proud to say I have RE2 on the Nintendo 64!) As for RE5? I bought it on the day it came out. Then a few days later I found out that it had the red Xbox which came with another copy.

And then I found the limited edition in a used store with all the extras in it: a necklace of Kijuju, a Tricell messenger bag, a BSAA patch and a Chris Redfield figurine (he's about four inches tall?). Which brings me to three action figures, who are are much bigger than he is: another Chris Redfield and Jill Valentine (RE1 GameCube) and Zealot (RE4).

Oh, yeah. And the movies. I own two copies of each movie, including Degeneration. The first one because the second edition came out with more special features and the other two because I lost my first two copies somewhere in the house, lol. As for Degeneration, the first copy I bought 'cause I wanted the movie. The second 'cause we went to Wal-mart and saw it came with a t-shirt. It makes me sad, though, because I don't know where my beloved t-shirt is. :(

Until I reread this I didn't realise how much of a Resident Evil Retard I was. I've invented a term. I'm a RE-RE. Haha. And I will forever be one.

The Last Few Days

What has happened... Oh, so much. Mom lost her job. Brandi pretty much fired her for having a hearing problem. She called her useless after her hearing aid broke. So I put my two weeks notice in. I'm done on the 13th.

I don't know if it was the right thing for me to do. Quitting, that is. It's not that I won't be looking for another job, but it's that for a while all the expenses are going to be on dad.

We put most of the cats outside (finally). Now we only have Bullet and Skip. They put on a lot of weight once the kittens got older because they didn't like playing with them and now that the kittens are out, Bullet and Skip are playing a lot more and eating a lot less. I think they were depressed because of how many cats there were in the house. I know I was. Cleaning up after them is not fun. And I am not being funny; I'm being dead serious when I say I literally could not lift the cat poop when I cleaned out the litter box. It becomes a two person job after a certain point.

I'm getting to the point where I just don't care about anything anymore.

Military Base

Ooo, Thank you Hae! I'll just copy it and post it here...

43 Radar Squadron opened a Pinetree radar long-range station in February 1964 at a site 14 miles east of RCAF Station Penhold, who provided support to the facility.

43 RADAR SQUADRON
43 Radar Squadron is one of the 24 radar sites forming the “Pinetree” line across Canada, and it is a component of both Fighter Group and the 24th NORAD Region, Operational control of the unit is exercised by the Direction Centre of the 24th NORAD Region, located at Malmstom Air Force Base, Great Falls, Montana. There are eleven Canadian and Seven American radar sites in this region, which includes most of Montana, half of North Dakota, all of Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, and British Columbia. The function of 43 Radar Squadron is identical to that of the other radar units, and that is to provide the direction centre with search, identification, and height information on airbreathing threats, and to provide remote communications facilities from which the direction centre ca control interceptors to counter the threat. Opened in 1964 The Squadron is one of the last “Pinetree” radar units to be constructed and the unit became operational in February, 1964. The radar equipment includes the FPS-27 search radar and FPS-507 height finder. Computer functions are performed by the FYQ-47 Common Digitizer. The Ground-Air Transmit-Receive (GATR) site equipment includes the GKA-5 Time Division Data Link (TDDL) system, GRT-3A transmitters, GRR-993 receivers, and GRC-27 receivers.
Location The radar site is located on a twelve acre clearing on top of a glacial esker, some 18 kilometres east of CFB Penhold, and some 400 M higher in elevation. The GATR site is in the same area, approximately 1.6km removed from the radar site. Almost all support facilities and services are provided by DFB Penhold at the main base complex. A small kitchen and dining room is located at the radar site, and the noon meal is available during normal working days.

Military Base Near Our House? Cool.

We went to the bread store this morning (we just got back) and on the way home, Dad got a call on his cell, and it kept fading in and out. On the stretch of road right by our house, cell calls don't come through very well and GPS systems don't work. Dad told me it's cause there used to be a military base on that field. I never knew that.

That means there's probably a bunker underneath it. I would sooo love to see it. I wonder what was left behind under there? Y'know, obviously there's something jamming signals and stuff.

So, Today... And Recently.

Arg, I'm currently choking down a not-so-great sandwhich and listening to Adam Lambert's 'Strut' which just ended and changed to his other song 'Soaked', lol. I love his voice! Anyway, I work 12-8 today, but other than that, not a lot going on today.

Oh, I recently bought Anna an iPod nano. Its orange, 16 gigs, and films video!!! So we've been having fun with that :). Also, I bought me one. Same specifics, 'cept mine's pink. And the radio function on it is awesome.

I bought one for me 'cause my old one's screen is going nuts. It's all pixel-ly and weird.

Yesterday, we watched a movie on TV called 'Down To The Dirt' 'cause it has Hugh Dillon in it (who only played a small role anyway). It was actually really good, but it's definitely for adults; adult situations and coarse language. It had a few funny bits in it, too, that had Steph and I roaring in laughter.

I've been saving up to help pay for a new van. Westerner Days kinda sucked away most of my money. I feel ashamed hehe. Not really. :P

I think that's it.

Westerner Days

So, we're off to Westerner Days today for the second time this year :). Yesterday we went to see Marianas Trench live, at the Centrium, and they were amazing! They do such wonderful harmonizing and the frontman Josh Ramsay has a great sense of humor (but I guess that comes with being Canadian!). My only beef though is that they didn't play either of my favorite songs from either the first or second album :( But I bought a t-shirt and Steph got a band photo.

The reason we're going again though is 'cause yesterday we didn't go on any rides. Anna's been pretty sick, so we decided to wait for today - so far so good!

So, yeah. Fun day ahead, if all goes right. :D

16 June 2010

ooooo

Man, today I am soooooooo tired. I had a good ten hours on my Xbox and PS3 last night :D. Silent Hill: Homecoming and Resident Evil 5, respectively. But believe it or not, that is not why I am tired.

So, I went to bed at 1:36 AM (that's actually normal for me). I was dreaming that I was Alex (the guy from Silent Hill) fighting this mutated monster and it just wouldn't die. To my left, Chris (one of the characters from Resident Evil) is telling me we should run and I'm totally agreeing with him. But there's this nagging voice, my real voice, not Alex's, in my head telling me all sorts of logical reasons why this monster cannot be real and that I shouldn't be afraid. But me and Chris, we just turn tail and run.

We're running for our lives and while we're racing down the foggy streets, I realise that there's these little white things falling from the sky and that it's not ash anymore - and it's not snow. (In Silent Hill it rains ash.)

Chris points out its raining pills!

"What?" I say in disbelief. Then I see a small bottle on the sidewalk. The monster lets out a screech, but that doesn't stop me from stopping to pick it up.

Then, I awake.

I'd forgotten to take my pills and poor Alex gets to die because of it. I woke myself up at 3:22 AM because I forgot to take them. And that is why I am tired.

Current Thoughts

My current thoughts would be how happy I am that Tokio Hotel has stolen the fave band throne from My Chemical Romance in Steph's heart. I know, I know, I really shouldn't care what she listens to, but My Chemical Romance is annoying. I admit, I like their song 'Teenagers' and I know the words when it's playing. But every other song I hear from them makes my skin crawl and not in a good way. I'm evil. And I enjoy it.

Yesterday, I went and bought a couple of CDs (Disturbed's 'Indestructible' and Miley Cyrus's 'The Time Of Our Lives') and am currently putting them into my iTunes. I love music - I seriously have fun making my iTunes grow larger and larger. It has currently over 2200 songs in it ;). Mind you, they are not all songs - some are just audio - like talking or sound effects. But most are music.

Today I am dreading the litter box. I hate doing the litter box, though it is definitely one of those things you cannot leave undone. That would be absolutely disastrous! And let's face it; all those little kittens are worth it, with their furry little faces and tiny little paws!

Oh! Yesterday I bought two magazines as well - I forgot about them! I am totally excited to read them. One has a feature on Lady Gaga and the other on Kristen Stewart (both of which are awesome!).

Well, I think that's it for now.

Wavin' Flag

Okay, so I bought Young Artists For Haiti 'Wavin' Flag' and I plopped it into my iTunes. And you know what the genre came up as?

Unclassifiable. My first thought was Pop/R'n'B.

Today...

Oh, today I've got another 3:30-Close shift at work. That's awesome 'cause I actually love closing.

I really like working the night shifts because when I work mornings I really am just a 'b-word'. I'm not that way at home. But, at eight in the morning, it's just that as soon as I walk through that back door at work, I'm a total b-word! And that's why Brandi thinks I'm so grouchy. That and when I get so deep in thought I think I glare. I'm not actually glaring. I think I'm just built that way.

Anyway, back to today. We're going to head into Wal-Mart and buy MORE hair products to spray and finger into/onto my head. Things like heat resistant spray and gels and a 360 brush and combs and jeez I dunno what else.

Major Status Update!!! (Take That Facebook!)

Here's my 'Facebook Status' so-to-speak: I've been playing a butt load of Left 4 Dead (both the first and second one) with my sisters. Anna and I've done Dead Center on Expert twice (hours upon hours of frustration) and now we're kinda taking it easy on Advanced now.

What else am I up to? Oh. Work has pick up 'cause of May long and plus Caroline from work broke her wrist so I've been covering for her. Yup, I'm rolling in the dough.

My last paycheck I bought a hair-straightener/curler for Steph and she's been doing stuff to my hair, so it's finally not flat and boring!!! Yay! Of course, with the help of a gazillion different hair products too.

And Steph and I have also been trying to sing and write a lot more.

Lately I've been listening to my iPod a lot, mainly songs from Headstones.

There. Phew.

:)

Why am I here?

Okay, so, why am I on Blogger? Facebook. Oh, I hate Facebook. Facebook is now sharing ALL information with third parties and is doing what-the-fork-ever with my stuff, like, say, photos. No. No Facebook. And I will not pay, either. Screw you, Facebook. It's over between us. Sooooo over.

Anyway, so, here I am on Blogger. Hopefully a better way to connect to people. I doubt it. But, this is where I'll be. If they don't follow me, then whatever. I can always text the ones that I have the numbers to.

Okay. I still hate Facebook. I HATE FACEBOOK.
